The key information for disability equality:

ACT: Agreement of Consistent Treatment, a tool to record the reasonable adjustments and flexible working arrangements agreed between an employee and their line manager.Ìý Some employees may feel anxious raising requests for reasonable adjustments with their managers – it is hoped the ACT will ease that anxiety as it is evidence of Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøվ’s commitment to equality and inclusion.Ìý Likewise some managers may be anxious discussing issues that they feel are personal to the employee.Ìý The ACT provides a template to facilitate such discussions.

How to disclose your disability

Telling us aboutÌýa disability or long-term health condition (whether this is a physical or mental health condition) is a straightforward process. There are several ways to tell us, including the following:

  • Selecting the relevant option on your application to study at Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ form (this could either be aÌýUCAS orÌýpostgraduate application) – those who do so will be contacted by the Disability, Mental Health and WellbeingÌýteam in advance of starting their course and asked to complete an Applicant Support Questionnaire (ASQ) to provide more information
  • Contacting the Disability, Mental Health and WellbeingÌýteamÌýwhen you arrive throughÌýthe askÂ鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾Ìýstudent enquiries system
