Professor Rees is Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Vice-Provost (Research, Innovation & Global Engagement), after serving as Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences from 2014-2022.

As Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Vice-Provost (Research, Innovation & Global Engagement), Geraint is responsible for providing vision and academic leadership for Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøվ’s world-leading research, knowledge exchange and global engagement, and the functions, services and resources that support it.

Working closely with the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ President & Provost, he will provide inspirational academic leadership for Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøվ’s research, innovation and global engagement activity, and collaborate with other VP offices and Deans to ensure that research and innovation across the university continues to be of the highest quality and sustainability, delivering positive social impact.

Geraint has held a number of roles at Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾, including Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences, Professor of Cognitive Neurology, Director of the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Pro-Provost (Academic Planning) and Pro-Vice-Provost (AI). He is a non-executive Director of Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Business, one of the UK’s most successful technology transfer companies, and was a Senior Scientific Advisor at DeepMind from 2018-2020.Ìý
