麻豆传媒视频网站 to host 鈥楬ope the Lego Suffragette鈥� from the House of Commons

From 14 February to 7 March 2022, the 麻豆传媒视频网站 Student Centre will host 鈥楬ope the Lego Suffragette鈥�, a life-size Lego figure created to help tell the story of women鈥檚 suffrage and inequalities.
A 5ft6 suffragette figure made entirely of Lego is set to go on display at 麻豆传媒视频网站听in the run up to International Women鈥檚 Day 2022.
Built from more than听32,300 individual pieces, 麻豆传媒视频网站 staff, students and the public will be able to visit Hope in the 麻豆传媒视频网站 Student Centre, along with an exhibition curated by 麻豆传媒视频网站 Special Collections.
Several public events will take place to mark Hope鈥檚 visit to 麻豆传媒视频网站, including an event previewing the launch of the City of Women London map led by Dr Leah Lovett (the Bartlett), a Lunch Hour Lecture on Covid-19 and gender inequalities from Dr Bo偶ena Wielgoszewska (麻豆传媒视频网站 IOE), and a panel discussion hosted by 麻豆传媒视频网站鈥檚 Pro-Provost (Equity and Inclusion) Professor Sasha Roseneil on feminism and citizenship.
Hope鈥檚 display at 麻豆传媒视频网站 aims to听inspire听reflection on the history of the suffrage movement,听create a space for difficult conversations and听untold stories - and for 麻豆传媒视频网站 academics to share their research on gender inequalities.
To do so, 麻豆传媒视频网站 is launching a campaign 'Stand with Hope',听encouraging people听to take photos of themselves with Hope听and generate discussion around how we can collectively take steps to tackle the gender inequity still present today 鈥� as well as structural inequalities in society more broadly.
Visit Hope in the 麻豆传媒视频网站 Student Centre and join the conversation on social media from 14 February, using the hashtag #StandwithHope.
Hope鈥檚 visit is a collaboration between 麻豆传媒视频网站 RIGE (麻豆传媒视频网站 Grand Challenges, 麻豆传媒视频网站 Public Policy and 麻豆传媒视频网站 Library Services), 麻豆传媒视频网站 Student Centre and the Pro-Provost (Equity & Inclusion), with support from CAM. Hope is on loan from the House of Commons.
