Clinical Applications of Cell and Gene Therapy is a core module in the MSc Cell and Gene Therapy course which runs at the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ GOS Institute of Child Health. The module can also be chosen as an optional for other courses occluding the MSc Personalised Medicine. The purpose of this job is to support teaching and learning in our Clinical Applications of Cell and Gene Therapy module. The main duties of the post are regular meetings with the module team, giving lectures, organizing workshops, manging the module’s Moodle page, setting and managing Zoom links and in some cases, coursework assessment. The jobholder will also assist the module lead in the collection and review of module feedback and will actively follow and promote Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ policies (including EDI opportunities) and uphold confidentiality in regard to students records and marks.

Key responsibilities

• Teaching assistance through the facilitation of seminars and/or workshops;
• Class preparation and meeting with lecturers/module organisers;
• Marking students' work;
• Giving feedback to students;
• Manging the module’s Moodle page

Requirements for role

The jobholder is currently a Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ PGR student or registered as a Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ PGR student from 23 September 2023.

The applicant will have specialist knowledge appropriate to the Clinical Applications of Cell and Gene Therapy module. The student will be educated to master's degree level (or having equivalent experience) and working towards a relevant postgraduate degree (PhD). It would be desirable for the student to have some prior experience with the MSc Cell and Gene Therapy course and ability to be on site at the ICH during the main teaching week of the module (week starting 24 Feb 2025). In addition, the PGTA will have excellent organizational and time management skills and have the ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, with students, academic and support staff at all levels.Ìý
