Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ DRI Hub Bid Team wins Professional Services Award

2 March 2017

Congratulations to the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Dementia Research Institute Hub Bid Team, who won the Best Collaborative Project Award at the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Professional Services Awards 2017.

Dementia Research Hub Team

The UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI) is a £250m joint investment into dementia research, led by the Medical Research Council, alongside founding charity partners Alzheimer's Society and Alzheimer's Research UK. Aiming to transform the nature of dementia research by connecting researchers from different disciplines, the DRI will operate at multiple UK locations. The MRC selected Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ to be the hub of the DRI's activity in December 2016.

The UK DRI Hub Bid Team was therefore awarded Best Collaborative Project in recognition of the unprecedented size and scope of the bid. The bid was a three-year process and involved collaboration between academics, SLMS Research Coordination Office, SLMS Communications, SLMS Projects and Partnerships, and Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Communications and Marketing.

Appearing to collect the award at the ceremony on 15th February 2017 were Dr Andrea Hodgetts (Acting Head of Partnerships and Projects, OVP Health); Dr Matt Wakelin (Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Neuroscience Strategic Coordinator); Morgan Williams (SLMS Communications Manager); Fiona Davidson (Senior Design and Brand Manager, Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ CAM); and Clare Bowerman (Head of Communications, Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ CAM).

Dr Hodgetts said, 'We're delighted and honoured to have won the award for Best Collaborative Project. Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾'s application to be the hub of the U.K. Dementia Research Institute was a truly collaborative effort to deliver a clear and compelling case for why the Hub of the UK DRI should be located at Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾.'

The annual Professional Services Awards follow on from the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Professional Services Conference and recognise individuals or teams staff for their attitude, commitment, and exemplification of professional services values.

On the day, the Faculty of Brain Sciences communications team, in conjunction with Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Digital Presence, received a certificate of nomination for Best Collaborative Project category, for their work to relaunch the Faculty website.
