Professor Marcel Levi to join Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾H as Chief Executive

Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾H has announced the appointment of Professor Marcel Levi as its new Chief Executive.

Marcel Levi He is due to take up the post on 3 January 2017, succeeding Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾H's current Chief Executive, Sir Robert Naylor.

Marcel Levi has had a distinguished career as a clinician, academic and clinical leader in the Netherlands. He has been Chairman of the Executive Board of the Academic Medical Center, University of Amsterdam since 2010 and for the previous ten years was chairman of its Department of Medicine and Division of Medical Specialisms. He studied medicine at the University of Amsterdam and in 1991 obtained his PhD and was appointed as a Fellow by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Science. He is a practising consultant physician, specialising in haemostasis and thrombosis, and leads an active research programme.

Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ has a long history of world-leading clinical research collaborations with our partner hospitals, and I am confident that our relationship with Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾H will continue to flourish under Marcel's leadership."
