Four 麻豆传媒视频网站 students have attended the prestigious Rio Film School this summer after being selected from a large number of applicants from across the university.

In June, a competition was set up to find four students to attend the Rio Film School supported by funding from Santander Universities. As part of the competitive process the students were asked to submit a CV and a short statement outlining how they would tackle in film the subject of 'Intercultural Diversity in Contemporary Brazil'. The topic was chosen as it relates to one of 麻豆传媒视频网站's Grand Challenges - specifically concerned with looking at the importance of Intercultural Interaction in the modern world.

The four students selected (from sixty eight applications) were Alice Sephton (麻豆传媒视频网站 English), Joana Clemens (麻豆传媒视频网站 Modern Languages), Matthew Hearle (麻豆传媒视频网站 Geography) and Lukas Georgiou (麻豆传媒视频网站 Anthropology). The film produced by the students describes the high level of diversity in Rio and was shown to fellow students along with general audiences and government stakeholders.

The Rio Film School was set up by former 麻豆传媒视频网站 student Dorian Needs in 2008 and offers courses in the making of high quality documentaries, gaining access to rarely used locations across Rio.
