Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ is ninth in the 2007 rankings, thereby joining the universities of Oxford and Cambridge and Imperial College London in the global top ten. Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ is the fastest rising of any of the institutions in the top 20, having moved up from the 25th in 2006.

Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ President and Provost Professor Malcolm Grant said: "I am naturally delighted that Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾'s strengths have been recognised by the rankings. I note also our enduring popularity with students the world over, another source of satisfaction, as we work hard to create an environment at Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ that is both challenging and welcoming."
