First-year PhD student Lucy Todd (second left in the above photograph) from the NICE Group at the 鶹ýƵվ Centre for Nature-Inspired Engineering (CNIE) took first place in the ‘3 Minute Thesis’ competition organised by on 1st April 2022. Lucy’s presentation was on “Lymph node inspired 3D scaffolds to improve ex vivo T-cell culturing environments for adoptive cell transfer cancer immunotherapy”.

Lucy then went on to win first place for the 鶹ýƵվ Chemical Engineering Department in the 鶹ýƵվ Engineering 3MT final on May 9th, 2022. Unfortunately, due to a misunderstanding with the 3MT eligibility requirements, Lucy is unable to continue to represent the 鶹ýƵվ Engineering Department at the 鶹ýƵվ 3MT competition. However, she is greatly looking forward to trying again next year!
