This module aims to provide an appreciation of the Design process within the systems engineering lifecycle. At the end of the module the student should have a knowledge and understanding of the processes involved in systems design covering requirements analysis, functional analysis, architectural design and trade studies to name a few.
The student will be exposed to a range of techniques for improving design decisions looking at the creative aspects as well as systematic elements of the design process. A mixture of interactive lectures, group discussions, workshops and case studies allows the student to experience hands-on approach to the design of complex systems.
