This module enhances students' abilities to interpret and discuss works of Romanian literature read in the original language. The module aims to examine the measures taken by the Romanian Communist Party to impose its cultural dictates and to assess to what degree the form and content of published literature reflected the extent of the Party's success. It is taught by weekly seminar-style classes with regular essay tutorials.
