Description

This module explores basic topics in human nutrition and metabolism. Topics will include: Introduction to Nutrition and basic concepts in Nutrition, Metabolism I (glycolysis and krebs cycle), Metabolism II (electron transport chain), Protein and amino acids, Lipids, Micronutrients, What is a diet? An introduction to diet diaries, Food commodities, non-nutrient aspects of food, An introduction to the Association for Nutrition and an introduction to anthropometry and body composition. There will be a mixture of lectures and tutorials for this module.
