Connecting to the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ VPN with Linux

This guide explains how to connect to the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Virtual Private Network (VPN) which will enable you to access to a variety of Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ services and resources from outside of Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾.

Please note: Linux platforms are not currently supported. Assistance may be available on a best efforts basis but this is by no means guaranteed. However, generic instructions are provided below.

Before you start...

  • You must be aware of and abide by the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Computing Regulations
  • You must be aware of and abide by the
  • You need your Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ user ID & password – found on the front of your registration slip
  • An internet connection outside the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ network e.g. from home
  • A Linux computer

Important notice

When connected to the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ VPN service, ALL your traffic will be sent through the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ network, regardless of whether the destination is a Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ address or an address on the Internet.

You will also need to download: Ìý(server name: vpn.ucl.ac.uk)

Please note: There have been reports of this version of the AnyConnect client not working on Linux. If you experience issues, please use OpenConnect instead.
