Announcing the winners of our digital contest
13 November 2020
We were 'blown away' by the winners' creativity!
We recently held aÌýDigital Content Competition where we asked students and early-career researchers in Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾'s healthcare engineering and digital health sphere to create some quick, snappy content about their work.
In a time where more and more people are turning to social media for science and health information, it's important that we convey our work in concise and creative formats.ÌýÌý
We're very pleased to announce the winners: Priya Ahmed, an undergraduate student in Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Engineering, and Dr Anita Karsa, a postdoctoral researcher in Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering. They each receive £200 prizes and the opportunity to receive further science communication training.Ìý
The contestants were judged on their ability to communicate a healthcare engineering topic in an entertaining and informative way, and so that it can be understood by most people regardless of education level.Ìý
Priya used her super artistic skills to illustrate an Instagram multiple-image post showing how Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ researchers are responding to COVID challenges. We really enjoyed her use of vibrant colour and simple icons thatÌýclearly summarised the projects.Ìý
