Researchers in Residence Scheme – OHIDL and GLA

The Researchers in Residence Scheme is a policy fellowship scheme between Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾, OHID and now GLA to strengthen networks and develop researchers’ skills and experience in contributing to policy work. Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Public Policy, in collaboration with Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Health of the Public, is offering support for up to five Researchers in Residence to collaborate with OHIDL and GLA. Deadline for applications: 24 October, 17:00 GMT

Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Health of the Public Communities

In September 2020, Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Health of the Public launched an academic communities scheme to encourage dynamic and innovative leaders to proactively develop themes that bring together new research communities. These academic communities will act as a catalyst to increase Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾’s cross-disciplinary public health research capacity.

Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ researchers are working at the forefront of cross-disciplinary research to improve the health of the public. From planetary health to developing and using new technologies, Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ is providing new knowledge and evidence to tackle the multitude of factors that affect our health.

Since its launch in 2020, the Scheme has supported 12 cross-disciplinary projects to deliver collaborative research that has the potential to transform the public health landscape and help us to prevent disease, promote health, and prolong life in the population as a whole. Find out more.

Cohorts

Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ is host to a wide range of Population and Clinical Cohorts, as well as Electronic Health Record studies. These prospective and retrospective cohort studies follow a group of people who share a common characteristic or experience and use correlations to analyse risk factors.
