This monthly newsletter showcases the Cancer Trials which are open to recruitment at the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾H Clinical Research Facility.
Trials are listed with named Principal Investigator (PI), alongside a Local Project Reference (LRP) number for additional information on the trial, including eligibility criteria, linking to the ‘Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾H Find a Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ database’

Additionally, in this newsletter we highlight the research conducted by our cancer Principal Investigators, alongside the latest news coming from the cancer portfolio.

In this month's edition, we are pleased to highlight and introduce the appointment of three Cancer Consultants at the Clinical Research Facility. Dr. Khurum Khan in Gastro-Intestinal Oncology, Dr. Sarah Benafif in Thoracic Oncology and Dr. Anuradha Jayaram in Uro-Oncology.Ìý
Alongside, the recruitment of a new Band 7 Cancer Research Nurse, Jingle Sanchez. We welcome them all to the team.

In this month's edition, we are pleased to highlight news from the 63rd American Society of Haematology (ASH) Annual Meeting and Exposition held between 11th – 14th December, where CRF Cancer Principal Investigator and Consultant Haematologist, Dr. William Townsend, was lead author on an abstract presented at this international conference on the CO41942 clinical trial.

In the October 2021 edition, we are showcasing Dr. Rakesh Popat. Rakesh Popat is a consultant haematologist at Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾H and honorary associate professor at University College London. He is the Cancer Lead at the NIHR Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾H Clinical Research Facility. He has highlighted his Myeloma early phase cancer trials, including 2 T-Cell engager trials (MMY1004: MajesTec 2 and GRACE) currently open to recruitment.

We are pleased to highlight news from the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾H Clinical Research Facility where three new consultant appointments have been made in Thoracic Oncology, Gastro-intestinal Oncology and Uro-Oncology.

In this edition, we are pleased to highlight news from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2021 annual meeting which was held as a virtual event between the 4th – 8th June.Ìý
3 cancer studies that were conducted at the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾H CRF were featured at this international conference. Dr. Rakesh Popat co-authored on an abstract for the DREAMM-2 trial, Dr. William Townsend on the CRUKD/12/004 (AZD3965) trial and Dr. Martin Forster on the TACTI-002 trial.

In the June 2021 edition, we are showcasing Dr. Dionysis Papadatos-Pastos. Dr. Papadatos-Pastos is a consultant medical oncologist and Principal Investigator specialising in the treatment of lung cancer and mesothelioma at University College London Hospitals. He has highlighted the CRUK-BT1718 clinical trial, currently open to recruitment.

We are pleased to highlight news from our Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾H Clinical Research Facility fellows, Dr. Aikaterini Kazantzi, who presented outcomes of the DREAMM-2 trial at two key haematology events.

Dr. Linch is a Consultant Medical Oncologist and Associate Professor of Oncology at University College London (Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾) Cancer Institute where he leads the Urological Cancer Biology Group (UCBG). He has highlighted two cancer vaccine trials open to recruitment.
