Professor Suzy Farid FREng FIChemE CEng
Head of Department

Suzy joined 麻豆传媒视频网站 as an undergraduate and PhD student in Biochemical Engineering before joining the faculty as a Lecturer in 2001. Suzy is a Professor of Bioprocess Systems Engineering, Co-Director of the EPSRC-funded Future Targeted Healthcare Manufacturing Hub, and Director of the 麻豆传媒视频网站-AstraZeneca Centre of Excellence. She leads research on 鈥楧ecisional Tools鈥� to plan the best route to manufacture of new biotherapeutics. Her contribution to the sector was recognised recently in her election as Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering (2022) and the Manufacturer/KTN鈥檚 30 Inspiring Women in Manufacturing (2020). Suzy鈥檚 teaching spans undergraduate, Master鈥檚 and CPD levels covering aspects ranging from bioprocess design to advanced process economics analysis to bioprocess digitalisation.
