How to apply - Undergraduates

You should apply online for Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Accommodation as soon as you have accepted an offer to study at Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾, and no later than 10 June in your year of study. Rooms are allocated based on preferences.

Step 1 - Check your eligibility.


Undergraduate students are eligible for a prioritised place in Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Accommodation if they meet all the following:

  • are a full-time student Ìý
  • are in their first year at Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ or are attending Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ for a full academic year on Junior Year Abroad (JYA) Erasmus, or Exchange programmes Ìý
  • apply for a single room (we have very limited couples and family accommodation) Ìý
  • have not previously lived or studied in  at a Higher Education Institution (University) Ìý
  • list Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ as their firm choice by 10 June 2024 Ìý
  • submit their Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Accommodation application (separate to application to study) by 10 June 2024 Ìý

What if I am not eligible?Ìý

If you are not eligible, you can find information about seeking non-Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ accommodation, including private student accommodation and private rentals, on our webpage, Alternative Accommodation for students.ÌýÌý

What does ‘prioritised’ mean?Ìý

Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ recognises its priority groups as students who are new to Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾, life at university, and the UK. ‘Prioritised’ means these students are offered spaces in Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ ahead of other groups e.g., students going into their second year.Ìý

Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Accommodation welcomes and supports applications from students with additional requirements and will support them throughout their time at Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾. If you are a current undergraduate student with additional requirements and you would like to speak with the Accommodation Office, you can contact them by via  or call +44 (0)20 7679 6322. Students are encouraged to apply as early as possible.

Step 2 - Choose preferences

Undergraduates do not select specific hall locations, instead selecting the below preferences in the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Accommodation Portal:ÌýÌý

  • Catered / Self-catered (catered where most of your meals are prepared for you, or self-catered where you make your meals yourself)Ìý
  • Room type (Shared bathroom / Ensuite / Studio)Ìý
  • Preferred maximum weekly rentÌý

Check the price points of our different room types and halls and decide which options line up with your budget.Ìý

Included in the rent:Ìý

  • free Wi-FiÌý
  • basic contents insuranceÌý
  • all utilitiesÌý
  • cleaning of communal areas and maintenanceÌý

We will take your preferences into account when rooms are allocated. Due to the large number of applications, these preferences are not guaranteed to be met.ÌýÌýÌý

Step 3 - Submit application


Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Accommodation Submit Online

Complete and submit your application via the by 10 June in your year of study. (For example, if you’re coming to Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ for September 2024, you must apply by 10 June 2024). You will receive a confirmation email when you have submitted your application.Ìý

You are encouraged to apply as soon as possible after receiving your Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ offer.ÌýÌý

If you have registered with UCAS using a school email address, we recommend that you update your details with a personal email, as you may lose access by the time offers are being sent out and this could cause you to miss out on your room.ÌýÌý

Step 4 - Receving an offer

The next time you hear from us will be when we make offers of accommodation.Ìý

Offers will be sent out between April and the end of August.Ìý

We allocate rooms based on preferences. Not all offers are generated at once, so we kindly ask you to bear with us and be patient.Ìý

Step 5 - Accept


Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Accommodation accept your offer

You will receive an offer by email, which you are required to accept through the Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ Accommodation Portal. To accept, you must pay a £250 deposit within 4 working days. Failure to do so will result in the offer being withdrawn.Ìý

Be sure to check your emails regularly to ensure you don’t miss your offer!Ìý

Please make sure your email address is correct, and that you check your inbox regularly - including Spam and Junk folders.Ìý

Fees, guidance and payments

Rent for Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ accommodation is paid termly. You will be notified via your Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾ email account when your invoices are available on your Portico account - for the first term’s rent, this will be within two weeks of checking in to your hall.Ìý
